Em “Three Graces”Gisleyne is what the public usually calls a “sweetheart”. However, for Glaura Lacerdahis interpreter, the mansion of Arminda’s house (Grazi Massafera) is much more than comic relief.
Recently, the character found Célio’s alliance (), becoming key piece in the mystery surrounding the powerful villain.
“Gisleyne’s heart is very moved”, says the actress in an interview with CNN Brazil. “She acts out of affection and simplicity, not out of the logic of danger. Suddenly, she finds herself faced with something bigger than her routine, with a weight that she can’t even fully measure yet,” he adds.
At 43 years old, Glaura made her debut in soap operas after a solid 18 years on stage. On her CV, she has several experiences: from being an accounting author to delivering leaflets to the “head” at children’s parties. For her, nothing was a waste of time.
“Each job put me in contact with different people, rhythms and realities. This expands listening, empathy and, above all, your repertoire, which cannot be copied by anyone, not even by a super AI robot (Artificial Intelligence). It’s yours alone!”, he says.
“I can calmly say that my crazy life experience contributed to Gisleyne’s authenticity”, he adds.
This Monday (27), we celebrate the Domestic Maid Day. Glaura faces the date with the seriousness of someone who knows who these women are behind an apron.
“Living Gisleyne is touching a much greater reality. Domestic work is a profession carried out mostly by women who often leave their own children in the care of other people to make it possible for so many families to organize their routines and dreams”, he reflects.
“For this reason, I interpret her with great respect. The character’s humor is never in her profession, but in her humanity, in the way she relates to the world”, he guarantees.
The inspiration for the most “clueless” and generous way came from within the house itself, in a delicate and beautiful process at the same time.
“My mother, Denise, does completely clueless things, but she has a huge heart. When Gisleyne brings up a subject out of context, like the ‘hard neck of the chicken’ during a discussion between Arminda and Gerluce (), I think: ‘my mother would do the same thing'”, she laughs.
Neuroscience and the art of improvisation on set
Method creator ELA (Playful Engagement in Learning)which combines art, gamification and neuroscience to train individuals in developing communication, creativity, improvisation or acting skills, Glaura applies neuroscience at work.
With the frenetic pace of the serial in its final stretch, the technique became his best friend, but not in an external or adjacent way, after all, it took years of study and development.
“On television, everything is fast. Improvisation taught me just that: giving up control and being available to others. Many of Gisleyne’s ‘lines’ were improvised based on the wonderful woman’s generosity. We tested them during the rehearsal and, when the management approved, something fun would be aired”, he reveals.
Working with texts by and Virgílio Silva brought what she calls “the most beautiful pressure of all”. According to the actress, the prestige of authors did not reduce – in any way – the butterflies in her stomach. On the contrary, it only increased.
“The question is no longer ‘will it work?’ and it becomes ‘how to honor such good material?’. This cold keeps me alive and alert”, he says.
And for the future? The actress intends not to stop. Between humorous solos and the desire to bring the method to more people, she keeps her dream high.
“If there is space to record a film right after the soap opera, I intend to bring an Oscar to Brazil”, he concludes.
