“I don’t see Lula or Flávio winning the election”, says Kassab

President of the PSD states that the rejection of more than 40% of the 2 pre-candidates prevents victory in the presidential election

The national president of the PSD, , stated this Monday (April 27, 2026) that he does not see the president (PT) nor the senator (PL) winning the 2026 presidential election because of the high rejection. The statement was made at the “Lunch Business Lide”, an event that brings together businesspeople and authorities, at the Hotel W, in São Paulo.

In the Nexus/BTG survey, this Monday (April 27), 48% of the electorate rejected Lula and Flávio.

“But today I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t see Lula nor Bolsonaro winning the election. I wonder how it is possible, even in a first round environment, a candidate who has more than 40% rejection, Lula, and another candidate, Flávio Bolsonaro, be ahead”said Kassab

According to Nexus this Monday, in 3 first round tests tested, Lula scored 41%, while Flávio ranged from 36% to 38%. The other pre-candidates for the Presidency, including (PSD), former governor of Goiás, reach a maximum of 6%.

According to Kassab, the lower performance of the other candidates is due to the fact that they have not yet contested a national election. For him, these names tend to grow throughout the campaign, as they gain more visibility among voters.

“Today the research reproduces 2 candidacies that have ‘recall’. And those who don’t have ‘recall’, only grow in the campaign. João Dória gave his example, I give my example. When I was a candidate for mayor in São Paulo [em 2008]my opponent was Geraldo Alckmin [à época, PSDB]he had 40%. And Marta Suplicy [à época no PT]who had already been mayor, 30 percent. The first round is over, I was in first place with 33%”, said Kassab.
