Emirates have had enough and are leaving OPEC after almost 60 years

The war in the Gulf region now also has immediate and difficult-to-calculate consequences for OPEC. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced on Tuesday that it would be leaving the oil cartel at the end of the month, on Thursday of this week. This means they will automatically be excluded from OPEC+, which has been expanded to include Russia and other important oil-producing countries.
