What’s going on there? PHOTOS from Croatia scared vacationers: Every time I go to the sea, I’m afraid

The approaching summer season brings surprising news for vacationers planning a trip to the popular Croatia. Just a few days ago, several sharks were caught off the coast of the island of Lošinj. This unexpected phenomenon attracted considerable attention, especially because the Adriatic Sea is one of the most frequent destinations of Slovak and Czech tourists, who are primarily looking for a safe vacation there, the website pointed out.

Footage of the sea predators quickly began to spread on social networks through the group Croatia in the Heart. “Sharks off Lošinj, and even very close to the coast? Yes, it sounds a bit like the beginning of a movie, after which a person climbs into the sea up to his ankles. The Adriatic is not only beautiful, but also a very lively world under the surface. And honestly? To see something like this with your own eyes must be an experience you will never forget.” wrote the author of the contribution to the photos.

“I live in Croatia and every time I go to the sea I am afraid. I have incredible respect for it.” she wrote about Jana’s latest shots. Other commenters identified the animal as a spiny shark, which has a very low probability of harming a person. “They’re fine. The main thing is not to be swept away and be at peace,” added Joseph.

However, experts and local residents warn that the appearance of sharks near the coast at this time of year is not unusual. The main reason is the current water temperature. The sea is cooler in spring and early summer, which suits certain species, such as the great white shark. These conditions naturally attract them closer to the shore.

However, vacationers need not panic. According to observers, it is true that as soon as the Adriatic Sea warms significantly during the summer months, the conditions near the coast cease to suit these sharks and they withdraw back into deeper waters.
