German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will soon have to leave his official residence, Berlin’s Bellevue Palace. The classicist building needs fundamental renovation. “It’s raining through the roof,” said the owner himself. So Steinmeier will move to alternative quarters on the Spree in the summer. But he won’t be using this for a long time: his term of office ends in March 2027.
