The first leg of the Europa League semi-finals started with a goal from the ‘arsenalistas’ and ended in the same way (2-1). The ‘Minho warriors’ have an important advantage over Germany.
The Minho team entered the field with the desire to at least equal their 2010/2011 feat, the season in which they were defeated by FC Porto in the Europa League final.
The first warning of the game didn’t take long. After just five minutes, Pau Victor shot wide and showed that SC Braga were not messing around.
And it really wasn’t. At eight minutes, assisted by Víctor Gómez, Demir Tiknaz, in a cart, allowed the home fans to celebrate. Great entry from the ‘warriors of Minho’, who did not shy away from imposing the pace of the game.
To the sadness of those present, Freiburg restored the tie eight minutes later. Former Benfica player Niklas Beste went up several meters and left Vincenzo Grifo with the responsibility of making it 1-1, which happened.
The visitors tried to counter SC Braga’s good level and, after the goal, they managed to do so. The match was more balanced, but the miners could have gone into the second half with an advantage. At 45+1, a penalty was awarded in favor of the Braga team, but Rodrigo Zalazar wasted the opportunity.
After taking to the pitch again, the two clubs managed to cancel each other out, with Friburgo slightly on top in the game and with more attacks in the final third.
The trend continued until the end, but in the middle, both teams still unsuccessfully asked for a penalty. Shy, SC Braga had some occasional opportunities, but the emotion was saved for the end.
