When you think it’s no longer possible, a little light comes from somewhere. Married couple Tim (Andrew Garfield) and Polly (Claire Foy) are frustrated. Her three children all suffer from a variation of screen addiction: Joe lives in his virtual first-person shooter reality, Fran has lost the will to speak while watching, and pubescent Beth hates everything three-dimensional that isn’t on her cell phone. When Polly loses her job, the couple see this as a unique opportunity to move to the country, grow tomatoes and show their children life away from internet access. Without their devices, they suddenly have eyes for completely different things. Like the magical tree that grows in the forest behind their new accommodation.
