President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said, on his social networks, that he will expand the conditions of the Move Brasil 2 program, with a longer period, grace period, and lower interest for the purchase of trucks. This is a federal government program, launched in April 2026, which provides R$21.2 billion in credit for the renewal of transport fleets in Brazil.

The president highlighted that the action will be especially for the benefit of self-employed drivers, and asked public banks to look “kindly” at self-employed drivers.
“What we noticed in Move 1 is that it served the delivery companies with more precision and because they had more resources. The self-employed received very little service,” he said, addressing representatives from Caixa, Banco do Brasil and BNDES.
Furthermore, Lula stated that he intends to deliver 41 rest areas for truck drivers.
