SPÖ “fell over while lying down”: Super grumpy Gewessler over budget in “ZiB 2”

How and where should 5.1 billion euros be saved, as the budget plan envisages? Cuts in pensions, a reduction in non-wage labor costs and an extended bank levy are planned. The plans have met with criticism in many places. Green Party leader Leonore Gewessler doesn’t skimp on this either. In the ZiB 2 with Margit Laufer she finds drastic words. The budget is an “injustice expressed in numbers,” she says. Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer (SPÖ), in turn, is passing the ball back to the previous government, which spent the money with full hands that now needs to be saved.
