Mother of Giovana, 16, and Artur, 10, administrator and controllership analyst from São Paulo Fabiana Gomes started running at the age of 35, in 2016, to get rid of a sedentary lifestyle and the many kilos inherited with her pregnancy with her youngest – she weighed 107 kilos.

In the beginning, she says, it was different, because she also had to take care of her ex-husband.
It was no surprise that she chose the name “I’m a mother who runs” on her Instagram profile, which now has 29 thousand followers.
The profile has already been more active, but recent times, 2025 in particular, have been dedicated especially to professional life, with an MBA, changing jobs and additional responsibilities in the new job.
Fabi likes, like so many runners, to set goals. Marathon is a popular event, especially outside Brazil, where you can enjoy it as a tourist; the highlight was perhaps Rome, when he raced on his birthday, March 19th. This year, however, the target is just one midfielder, SP City, on July 26th.
Running in big Brazilian cities is an increasingly risky activity for women alone, she agrees, and, when she’s not on the condominium’s treadmill, she runs close to home, around Lago dos Patos, in Guarulhos. In these gravel pits, leave your cell phone at home.
Mothers are beings who are closer to the divine on a scale of transcendence and, paradoxically, to concreteness on an ontological scale, but this does not seem to give them the benefit of leisure, not at home, not outside of it, nor ever.
Mothers may already be aware of what awaits them and, even more so, have this incredible ability to transform resignation into encouragement.
