The Alte Professional School is promoting, on May 29th, at 6pm, a guided walking tour to mark the recent classification of the Algarvensis Geopark as a UNESCO World Geopark, measuring approximately 10 kilometers.
The initiative takes place at dusk, providing participants with the opportunity to contemplate the sunset “from one of the highest and most sublime points in the Algarve – Rocha dos Soídos”.
Route highlights natural and geological heritage
The route begins in Fonte Pequena, in Alte, passing through Fonte Grande and the village of Soídos, to the geosite of Rocha dos Soídos. This place, in addition to its landscape, is of high scientific interest, allowing us to understand relevant aspects of the planet’s geological history.

The organization emphasizes that the route integrates a framework for valuing the territory, summarized in the expression “Alte – a Geopark within the Geopark”.
Experience includes gastronomy and guaranteed return
After the walk, participants continue to the village of Sarnadas, where dinner will be served at the Rosmaninho Restaurant, with traditional dishes such as xerém porridge with fried fish and stewed pork cheeks.

The return to Alte will be taken by bus from the Escola Profissional de Alte. Participation is limited to 30 people and requires prior registration via the website.
For more information, interested parties can contact the organization by email or telephone 289 478 100.
