Who are the victims who were on the plane that collided with a building in MG

As victims of the small plane crash, that collided with a building this Monday (4) in Belo Horizonte, were identified. According to Jovem Pan Poços de Caldas, they are:

  • Wellington Oliveira, a 34-year-old pilot who died instantly;
  • Fernando Moreira Souto, son of the mayor of the city of Jequitinhonha–MG, aged 36. Sitting in the copilot’s seat and also died at the scene;
  • Hemerson Cleiton Almeida Souto, 53 years old;
  • Leonardo Berganholi, businessman, aged 50;
  • Arthur Schaper Berganholi, Leonardo’s son, aged 25.

In addition to the death of pilot and the passenger who was in the co-pilot, according to the Minas Gerais Fire Department, three other passengers are in serious condition and have already been removed from the wreckage. They were taken to João XXIII Hospital. All residents of the building were evacuated by firefighters.

After crashing into the apartment building, the plane crashed into a parking area. Shortly before the collision, the pilot informed the Pampulha Airport control tower that he was facing difficulties in the takeoff procedure.

According to the Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), the model involved in the accident would be an EMB-721C, from 1979, a single engine with capacity to transport up to six people. The aircraft is registered in the name of Flavio Loureiro Salgueiro.

According to the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), the aircraft is regularized until April 1, 2027privately operated.

As The causes of the accident will be investigated by the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (CENIPA). The Third Regional Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention Service (SERIPA III), based in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), was activated.
