Presenter Eliana, 53, commented on the risks that children and teenagers take every day on the internet. This Thursday (7), the communicator revealed that she has become an ambassador for an initiative that aims to protect people in this age group from violence on the web and took the opportunity to reveal what measures she takes with her children, Arthur, 14, and Manuela, 8.
The blonde spoke about the subject on TV Globo’s “Mais Você”, during a conversation with Ana Maria Braga. She said she accepted the challenge of being an ambassador for the ABCD Digital Consciousness Guide so she could learn more about it.
“Throughout our lives, we, mature women, mothers, experienced women, are very alert to the violence in our country. But there is one thing that is an abyss, which as a mother, I confess that I am still unaware of. That is the digital abyss”, she assessed. “When I received the invitation to be an ambassador for this guide, I said: this is going to be a study for me”, she continued.
Eliana stated that many mothers are unable to be present in their children’s lives every day because they need to work to be able to provide food at home, and this is when the risks are greatest. “The mother thinks that because her son is at home, he is safe. Unfortunately, the dangers of digital are increasingly frightening”, he reflected.
The presenter also took the opportunity to reveal it inside the house. “I don’t leave Arthur with his cell phone at night. It’s not a question of a lack of trust in his son, on the contrary. It’s a matter of care that we take”, he explained.
Finally, the celebrity gave advice on how to avoid risky contacts on the internet. “Never talk to strangers. When you enter an app, be careful, never leave a gaming environment for another app. Predators can take children to a place where they can have a private chat”, he pointed out.
