When Google took over Fitbit a few years ago, the question was obvious: What will become of the well-known brand? Will it remain present or is Google just about the technology? Google’s answer to this at the time was unequivocal: Fitbit is staying. The company now assures that this will continue to be the case, but there is now a realignment of the fitness and health strategy that is pushing the well-known brand further into the background.
