The 1-1 draw between Santa Fe and Corinthians, this Wednesday (6), in the Libertadores, ended in hot weather at the El Campín stadium, in Bogotá. After the final whistle, confusion involving players from both teams took over the pitch, and goalkeeper Hugo Souza had to be escorted by coach Fernando Diniz as he left for the locker room.
The images from the broadcast showed Santa Fe athletes heading towards Corinthians’ number 1 shortly after the end of the match. Amid the turmoil, objects were thrown by Colombian fans onto the pitch, forcing Timão players to quickly leave the field.

The atmosphere was already tense from the first half. In the 44th minute, Matheus Bidu fell to the pitch, claiming to have been hit by an object coming from the stands. Referee Kevin Ortega even reported the episode to the refereeing team.
On the field, Corinthians encountered difficulties in Bogotá and saw Santa Fe open the scoring at the beginning of the final stage. After pressure from the home team, Rodallega came face to face with Hugo Souza and moved the goalkeeper to score.
The team took a while to react and only created clearer chances again in the final stretch. Dieguinho wasted a great opportunity in the 38th minute, while Mosquera saved another attempt from the young striker shortly afterwards.
When the defeat seemed definite, Gustavo Henrique appeared again as a Corinthian hero. In the 47th minute of the second half, the defender rose high after a cross and headed the ball into the corner to win.
The result keeps Corinthians undefeated and at the top of the table, with 10 points in four matches, very close to qualifying for the next phase.
