O Corinthians was leaked after three games, but avoided defeat in the end by Libertadores. The team tied 1-1 with the Santa Fe on Wednesday night (6), at El Campín, in Bogotá, Colombia. You 2,640 meters altitude contributed to the slow and below average game from Fernando Diniz’s team. Hugo Rodallega scored the goal for the Colombians. Gustavo Henrique saved, in the 47th minute of the second half.

The Corinthians team was superior to the opponent just for one brief moment do first half. Or Santa Fe took the lead at the end of the first stage e dominated almost the entire second halfwhen opened the scoreboard after a beautiful pass Jáder Obrian. Corinthians’ reaction was delayed, with substitutions that took time, a lack of creativity and slowness in the rarefied air. The final pressure saved the team.

The Brazilian team remains in the lead from Group E, with 10 points. If the Peñarol not beating Platense this Thursday (7), the Corinthians classification is guaranteed.

Corinthians even started with superiority over Santa Fe. The team occupied the attacking field and was not threatened by the Colombians. The owners of the house, however, they were able to position themselves well defensively and prevent Corinthians conclusions.

The São Paulo team also got confused, with passing errors. The hesitations gave Santa Fe the opportunity to attack. The Colombian team limited to long distance shotsbetting that the altitude could compromise Hugo Souza.

Going to the locker room with the score zero was fair given the mistakes on both sides. Still, it was Corinthians who had more volume and offensive presence to open the scoring. André wasted his best chancedrilling inside the area, in the 32nd minute.

Santa Fe bet on altitude damage to Corinthians in the second stage. The principals returned with more possession of the ball in the offensive field, but still lacked repertoire. The team limited itself to aerial balls and long shots.

When Corinthians managed to put the ball on the ground, the team had the quality to build from the defense. After six minutes, the team advanced on the left side, Yuri Alberto crossed low, and Matheuzinho arrived alone, but the full-back couldn’t reach it to finish. The problem was that there was no new equal chance.

The sequence was scary. At seven, Rodallega insisted on shooting from distance and forced Hugo Souza to make a great save, sending it to the corner. In the dead ball, the goalkeeper had to perform a miracle in two halves on Toscano’s header. In another attempt from the corner, the ball scraped the post, with Hugo taking the shot from Emmanuel Oliveira with his eyes.

The relative control that Corinthians had in the first half was not seen in the second stage. The team stayed limited to counterattackswho didn’t always have so many passing options, with black and white athletes already worn out.

Best in the match, the Colombians opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Rodallega received the ball tucked between the Corinthians defenders, came face to face with Hugo and just took it from the goalkeeper so that Santa Fe took the lead.

The assistant came to signal impedimentbut VAR showed that Matheus Bidu’s heel gave conditions for the attacker. The move was at odds with what Santa Fe had done up until then, crowning the good vision of Jáder Obrian, who had entered in the second half.

Santa Fe continued on top. Corinthians, shakenhad his socks far from each other and had difficulty reacting. Fernando Diniz tried to change the game only with guidance on the rehydration break, but did not promote substitutionswith 25 minutes of the complementary stage.

Only at 30, the coach sought more offensiveness, with Dieguinho replacing André. The boy was the one who tried the most to find a game, but it still wasn’t enough. The final pressure, in the abafa, was what saved it. Matheuzinho crossed, and Gustavo Henriqueas a center forward, rose more than everyone and sent it to the networks.

Corinthians faces the classic with São Paulo for the 15th round of the Brazilian Championship. Majestoso will be at Neo Química Arena, on Sunday (10), at 6:30 pm (Brasília time).
