Iran denies accusations of attack on South Korean vessel in Hormuz

The Iranian embassy in South Korea declared on Thursday (7) that it “strongly rejects” any allegation of involvement by the Iranian armed forces in the damage caused to a South Korean vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Panamanian-flagged ship was carrying 24 crew members, including six South Koreans, and was docked in the strait near the United Arab Emirates when the explosion occurred. There were no reports of casualties, the ministry said at the time.

US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran had “fired some shots” at the ship.
