Cars have become significantly safer in recent decades. Crumple zones, airbags, seat belt tensioners and electronic assistants have reduced the number of road deaths in Europe over the years. However, not everyone benefits equally from progress, as a new study by the Institute for Vehicle Safety at Graz University of Technology (VSI) shows. Women are much less protected in cars than men.
