An Iranian missile and drone attack on the United Arab Emirates left three injured. The strikes came after months of a ceasefire and are escalating tensions in the region.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced on Friday that three people were slightly injured in an Iranian missile and drone attack on the country’s territory. TASR writes about it according to reports from the AFP and AP agencies.
The UAE has reported multiple missile and drone attacks from Iran this week. These were the first strikes since the ceasefire came into force in April. Iran has previously denied reports of attacks on the UAE.
Captured missiles and drones
“UAE air defense systems intercepted two ballistic missiles and three drones fired from Iran,” the UAE Ministry of Defense said in a post on Platform X. There were no immediate reports of damage in the country.
The department then advised residents not to approach, photograph or touch “any debris or debris that fell as a result of successful air strikes.”
American response
Hours earlier, the U.S. military announced that it had intercepted Iranian attacks on three U.S. destroyers in the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday night and subsequently “struck the Iranian military facilities responsible for the attacks.”
