8 May (Reuters) – US President Donald Trump announced this Friday, via social media, a three-day ceasefire in the war between Russia and Ukraine, from May 9 to 11.
Moscow and Kiev accused each other of violating the truce they each declared separately.
Trump stated in a post on Truth Social that the pause will include the suspension of all military activities and also an exchange of thousand prisoners from each country.
‘I hope this is the beginning of the end of a very long, deadly and arduous war,’ he said, adding that there is steady progress in negotiations to end the conflict.
