The Court granted a suspensive effect to Ypê this Friday (8) and authorized the resumption of the manufacture of products banned by Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency). Despite the decision in favor of the company, the agency reinforced that the guidance for consumers not to use the items remains maintained.
The possibly contaminated products were removed from supermarket shelves this morning, after Anvisa ordered the recall of the brand’s detergents, liquid laundry soap and disinfectants.
The measure affected all lots with final number 1 and also suspended the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of the items.
The agency’s action occurred after an inspection carried out in partnership with health surveillance bodies in São Paulo and Amparo. According to Anvisa, the inspection found irregularities in stages considered critical in production, including problems in quality control and health guarantee systems.
According to the agency, the failures represent non-compliance with the rules of Good Manufacturing Practices and can lead to microbiological contamination of the products.
The agency also stated that the technical assessment indicated a health risk, which led to the adoption of precautionary measures.
With the court decision, Ypê returns to producing and selling the items while the process remains under analysis. Even so, Anvisa emphasizes that the injunction does not change the agency’s technical understanding of the risks identified during the inspection.
The recommendation for consumers who have products from the affected batches is to stop using them and seek guidance from the company’s customer service department.
