Faliraki Beach on the Greek island of Rhodes has been named as Europe’s cheapest beach destination for 2026, with nearby three-star hotels starting from around €42 per night. The ranking was prepared by Hoppa, a company specializing in airport transfers, which analyzed several European destinations taking into account accommodation prices, climate and ease of access.

Faliraki leads among the most economical beach destinations

According to the Hoppa study, cited by the British newspaper, Faliraki Beach stands out for the lowest average price in three-star hotels in the nearest location. The quoted value is £36 per night, which corresponds to around €42 using the European Central Bank’s (ECB) latest reference rate.

In addition to the price, Faliraki can emerge as an attractive option for those looking for a vacation with guaranteed sunshine. Hoppa says that this beach in Rhodes records 0 mm of average precipitation in summer and average temperatures of 25.7 ºC, conditions that reinforce the interest of this destination for beach holidays.

Blue waters and quick access to the airport

Faliraki beach is described in the study as a bay with blue waters, located about 23 minutes from the airport. This factor contributes to its position among the easiest and most economical beach destinations in Europe, especially for those looking to reduce costs and travel time after arrival.

Even so, the Hoppa study shows that the destination with the quickest access to the airport is Portuguese: Praia de Faro is just five minutes from the airport, a time seven times shorter than the average of 35 minutes analyzed in the set of European destinations.

Portugal also appears among accessible destinations

Portugal appears prominently on the list of the most economical beach destinations, with Praia de Faro and Praia da Rocha offering average accommodation from 59 pounds, around 68 euros per night. Praia da Falésia and Praia do Tamariz are also included in the selection, with prices starting at 63 pounds, approximately 73 euros.

The presence of Portugal, Greece and Croatia among the most represented countries shows that southern Europe continues to concentrate some of the most sought after options for those who want beach holidays with more controlled prices.

According to values ​​published by Hoppa and converted into euros at the ECB reference rate, Faliraki Beach, in Rhodes, tops the list with around 42 euros per night.

Next come Kašjuni Beach and Bačvice Beach, in Croatia, at around 65 euros; Faro Beach and Praia da Rocha, in Portugal, and Kolovare Beach, in Croatia, with around 68 euros; Agia Marina Beach and Platanias Beach, in Crete, with around 69 euros; Myrtos Beach, in Kefalonia, with around 71 euros; and Praia da Falesia and Tamariz Beach, in Portugal, with around 73 euros.
