China and its relations with Iran
China is an important economic partner of Iran, takes a large part of its oil production and is also among its important diplomatic supporters.
However, the US president emphasized that he does not need Xi to find a way out of the conflict, which began at the turn of February and March with a massive US-Israeli attack on Iran and grew into a stalemate in the form of a fight for control of the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump: Iran is under control
“We have a lot of topics to discuss. To be honest, I wouldn’t say Iran is one of them because we have Iran under a lot of control,” Trump said, repeating to Tehran that “we either make a deal or they are destroyed.”
Responding to media reports that China continues to help arm the Islamic Republic and buy its oil despite sanctions, Trump said Xi has been “relatively accommodating.”

“They get a lot of their oil from this region. We’ve had no problem. He’s a friend of mine and a person we get along with,” Trump said shortly before departing for Beijing.
