Rui Pedro, one of the contestants in the current season of the SIC program ‘Casados à Primeira Vista’, was in the ‘Casa Feliz’ format this Thursday, May 14, talking to Diana Chaves and João Baião.
After remembering the wedding ceremony with Elisabete and even their honeymoon in Cape Verde, Rui Pedro was challenged to comment on the small ‘frictions’ between him and his wife.
The real estate consultant recalled his discomfort with Elisabete’s attitude during a night at the club during their honeymoon and how much this impacted his wife in Portugal and reflected on his way of being in a relationship.
“I have that way of saying ‘be careful, this is mine’, it’s a lot of my personality, but it’s not aggressive, which can sometimes be confused with that. For a man to score, I think it’s a man’s thing, it’s my way of being, I’m from 1974, I have those old teachings, it’s my upbringing”he said.
After emphasizing that it is not “agreeable” for a woman to be “completely comfortable” in a relationship, Rui Pedro was later questioned by Diana Chaves: “Why don’t you consider yourself a possessive man?”. “No, nothing like that. If a person next to me tells me that I’m possessive, they should explain to me why, right? If they can’t explain it, they only call me because they invent and create situations… Because it could be, for example, from the past and it could be from a tiny little thing that it could trigger something that… from their past… and then they have these fears. I try to understand this situation, but I could talk to myself. I’m taken by surprise”he reflected.
