Trump publishes image of $100 bill stamped with his face; see illustration

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, published, this Tuesday, 12, an image of a US$ 100 bill stamped with his face.

The post was made on Truth Social. On the front of the note, a photo of Trump appears, accompanied by the phrase “Federal Victory Note” (“Federal Victory Note”, in free translation) and the inscriptions “TRUMP2024”, in reference to the year in which the Republican was last elected, and “TRUMP4547”, because he was the 45th and 47th American president.

On the back, there is an image of Independence Hall, in Philadelphia, as well as the phrase “GOD BLESS DONALD TRUMP” (“God bless Donald Trump”, in free translation).

The image also features Trump’s signature, which is expected to appear on real dollar bills later this year. The change, announced by the Treasury Department at the end of April, pays homage to 250 years of US independence and will mark the first time that a sitting president will appear on US currency.

Since the beginning of his term, Trump has sought to associate his image with public symbols. In April, the State Department announced that it was preparing a limited edition of commemorative passports with a photo of the Republican, again in honor of the anniversary of American independence. He will be the first living president to appear on the travel document.

In March, the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts, which advises federal agencies on design issues, approved the creation of a 24-karat gold commemorative coin featuring Trump’s image. Once again, the justification presented was to honor the country’s independence.

Continues after advertising

The coin shows Trump with his fists resting on a table and a serious expression. On the back, there is an eagle. It is one of at least three coins bearing Trump’s face, including a $1 coin that will circulate as legal tender, that the administration plans to release.

Last year, Trump also renamed buildings in his honor. In December, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts was renamed the Trump-Kennedy Center. The change was approved by the institution’s council, set up by the republican himself.

In the same month, the US Institute of Peace in Washington was renamed the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace. He also announced that the Navy will build a new class of warships, called the Trump Class.
