US blockade: Cuba reports complete failure of fuel supply

Washington/Havana – According to Energy Minister Vicente de la O, Cuba no longer has any diesel and heating oil reserves. Despite the US blockade, Cuba is continuing negotiations on fuel imports, the minister said on Wednesday (local time). Neither Mexico nor Venezuela, once important oil suppliers to Cuba, have delivered fuel to the island since US President Donald Trump’s January order. Trump is threatening countries that supply fuel to the communist-ruled state with punitive tariffs.
