Pressured for research, Flávio confirms meeting with Vorcaro after arrest

The release of the AtlasIntel/Bloomberg survey that showed Flávio Bolsonaro’s (PL-RJ) drop in voting intentions accelerated a change in strategy in the senator’s pre-campaign.

Hours after the survey showed the pre-candidate’s electoral retreat following the repercussion of the Daniel Vorcaro case, Flávio called a press conference to try to contain the wear and tear and reposition the narrative about the financing of the film “Dark Horse”, a production about Jair Bolsonaro.

In his speech to parliamentarians and journalists, the senator sought to associate the relationship with the former owner of Banco Master with a private negotiation of cultural investment, denying any irregularity and promising transparency measures regarding the resources used in the feature film.

The offensive took place amid increased pressure within the Bolsonarist camp after the survey indicated a loss of support since the release of the audios in which Flávio demands late payments from Vorcaro to maintain the film’s production.

At the press conference, the senator stated that Daniel Vorcaro was presented as an investor in the project at a time when, according to him, the businessman “moved around every corner” of Brasília and was “above suspicion”.

Flávio also detailed the chronology of the relationship with the businessman and stated that payments stopped being made in May 2025, putting the film at risk of interruption. According to him, the insistence on charges was intended to avoid the closure of production.

The senator also confirmed that he had found Vorcaro after the banker started wearing an electronic ankle bracelet. He said he went to meet the businessman to “put an end” to the relationship and stated that he would have looked for other investors sooner if he had known the seriousness of Banco Master’s financial situation.

Furthermore, he declared that any future revenues related to contributions made by companies linked to Vorcaro will be separated and made available to the Brazilian authorities.
