3tentos starts corn ethanol operation in Vale do Araguaia after ANP approval

() reported this Wednesday (20) that it officially started operating its first corn ethanol industry in Porto Alegre do Norte, in Vale do Araguaia (MT), after obtaining authorization from the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP).

“The venture represents a milestone in the company’s growth plan and consolidates its expansion in the biofuels segment,” stated the company, which already has three soybean processing and biodiesel production plants in Rio Grande do Sul (Ijuí and Cruz Alta) and Mato Grosso (Vera).

The new industry, according to the 3tentos statement, will process 2.8 thousand tons of corn per day. The unit will have a production capacity of 1,275 m³/d of hydrated ethanol and 1,215 m³/d of anhydrous ethanol, in addition to 785 tons per day of DDGS — distillers’ dried grains, a co-product of corn ethanol used in animal feed — and 50 tons per day of corn oil.

The plant is also suitable for processing sorghum in combination with corn.

“The corn for the first months has already been deposited and we are 100% prepared to receive the harvest that starts in June”, stated the president of the company’s board of directors, Luiz Osório Dumoncel, in the statement.
