Former deputy linked to the MST will be part of Lula’s campaign – 05/26/2026 – Panel

National leader of the PT, former state deputy Lucinha do (BA) will be part of the coordination of the campaign for the reelection of president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

She will play a role in mobilizing social movements in the countryside and the city to help with the candidacy. Participation reinforces the MST’s link with the campaign, despite the changes that occurred over the pace of the campaign during the current government.

A family farmer and settler, she has been a member of the MST since she was 16 and was part of the state coordination of the movement in Bahia and the national leadership.

She was also state secretary for Policies for Women and Promotion of Racial Equality in the Jaques Wagner government, in Bahia. Currently, she serves as national secretary of Popular Movements and Sectoral Policies for the PT.

“I receive this invitation with a lot of political responsibility in the re-election of President Lula and commitment to the Brazilian people, especially with the popular movements that have always been at the forefront of defending democracy, sovereignty and the rights of the Brazilian people”, stated Lucinha.

and has members of the party’s old guard as members, such as Lula’s former chief of staff Gilberto Carvalho and the former president of the Perseu Abframo Foundation Paulo Okamotto.
