The world of social networks today resembles a minefield. For famous faces and influencers, social networks are the main source of livelihood, but also a place where they balance on extremely thin ice. Every public statement, expression of opinion or partner cooperation is under the scrutiny of millions of eyes. And as it happens in the online world, you can never please everyone – criticism and waves of dissent are practically the order of the day.
Actor Matúš Kvietik also came up with criticism in his VIDEO on the social network. Right at the beginning, he mentioned the case surrounding the businessman that is currently resonating in the company René Rendy (René Strausz). Zuzana Strausz Plačkova’s husband is part of the anti-drug roadshow directed by the Minister of the Interior, Matúš Šutaj Eštok.

René Rendy is not the only famous face promoting online betting. Former tennis star Dominika Cibulková is one of the protagonists. “At the same time, my morbid curiosity didn’t allow me not to click on Dominika Cibulková’s profile on Instagram, where this time she was not promoting vodka, but betting. Where, with a smile on her face, she talked about the fact that: ‘I believe that our team will finish third because it is a young team and that is my tip and tell me what tips you have. Kvietik is only interested in one thing. “I would be very interested in how much Mrs. Cibulková splashed out on that betting, because I assume that since she is graduating, she does it. Because there are people for whom this betting has completely ruined their whole lives and deprived them of the last remnants of their property,” he pointed to the flip side of betting or gambling.
He admits that he himself is not without guilt. “Now I want to say that I am not a moral or ethical standard. I know what heartbreaks I have made in my life, at the same time I want to say that I really believe in some personal freedom of individuals, but just because it’s legal doesn’t make it right or ethical. This is very important to underline. And this is exactly the reason why I once verbally attacked those influencers who they do uncritical interviews with politicians and it’s that when a person gets to a certain level of popularity they should be held accountable for the things they put on the air“, he thinks.
He sees the problem in the fact that, according to him, these are undisguised advertisements that promote harmful things. “And this is not an example of a song about water that can be interpreted as water. This is not Lou Reed singing Perfect Day but also talking about heroin. This is direct advertising, direct selling of something that is a categorical drug to hundreds of thousands of people who look up to that individual“, he said angrily.
Kvietik does not hide the fact that he had problems with drugs in the past. So he gave an example that would relate directly to him. “Can you imagine that I would now start advertising coke, fresh coke that just arrived from Hamburg? Or that Uncle Ferko would be advertising for a pure Chinese guy who has just caught up and is just now at the Slovak airport?” he asked a question.
He does not see the reason why, according to him, some famous faces have the urge to promote just such things. “Maybe I’m really naive. But I have a question. Is it not enough to be rich? Is it not enough to have a lot of money? Do you really need to have all the money? Is it really necessary to squeeze the last cent from your followers without a hint of any morals and ethics and the question of what impact it might have on their private lives? In fact, there are no other collaborations than casinos on cars and betting on the profile of professional athletes.
