North Korea fired at least one “unidentified projectile” into the Yellow Sea on Tuesday, South Korea’s military said. TASR informs about it according to a report by the Jonhap agency.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said it was analyzing the details of the launch. No other information was immediately available. The AP reports that the incident occurred after North Korea fired multiple short-range missiles toward the Sea of Japan on April 19.
North Korea has significantly stepped up missile testing in recent years. Analysts say the effort is aimed at improving the accuracy of strikes, provoking both the United States and South Korea and testing the weapons before their potential export to Russia.
