Planalto articulates maintaining the Chamber’s agreement on 6×1 in the Senate, says Jaques Wagner

O government leader in the Senate, Jaques Wagner (PT-BA)stated this Tuesday (26) that the Palácio do Planalto will work to maintain the content agreed on Monday (25) between President Lula (PT), and the President of the Chamber, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), regarding the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) that ends the 6×1 working day.

“We will try to maintain the text of the agreement made in the Chamber,” Wagner told reporters in the morning.

The statement comes after representatives of the business class begin to articulate changes to the text in the Senateeven before approval in the Chamber.

The text that is the subject of the agreement made by Motta and Lula it is a middle ground between the current rules and the original content of the two PECs that are being processed in the Chamber, authored by deputies Reginaldo Lopes (PT-MG) and Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP).

The project, whose report was read on Monday by the special committee, establishes a maximum weekly workload of 40 hours, in a transition that will last 14 months, and prohibits salary reductions.

The proposal is expected to be voted on in the Chamber later this week. Afterwards, it will need the approval of the Senate.

Jaques Wagner also minimized possible problems with the government after the defeat imposed by the Senate on the nomination of Jorge Messias to the Federal Supreme Court. “My relationship is great,” he said.
