During the meeting between Donald Trump and Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), held on Tuesday (26) at the White House, the president of the United States praised President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) when commenting on the PT member’s recent visit to Washington.
The report was confirmed by businessman Paulo Figueiredo, an ally of Bolsonarism who participated in the meeting. In a statement to Folha de S. Paulohe stated that Trump mentioned Lula in a positive way when remembering the meeting between the two leaders.
“President Trump did comment on the meeting with President Lula. He praised his dynamism”, stated Figueiredo.
The reference repeats the tone adopted by the republican in a publication made on the Truth Social network shortly after welcoming Lula to the White House. At the time, Trump described the Brazilian as “the very dynamic president of Brazil” and stated that the two discussed trade and tariffs.
Meeting off the agenda
The meeting with Flávio was not on the White House’s public agenda and remained surrounded by uncertainty until a few hours before the meeting. Members of the senator’s pre-campaign feared a cancellation amid the diplomatic negotiations led by Trump on the war involving Iran.
Even without prior official confirmation, Flávio arrived in Washington on Sunday with the expectation of using the agenda as an attempt at political repositioning after the wear and tear caused by the revelations about contacts with Daniel Vorcaro, founder of Banco Master.

According to allies, the rapprochement with Trump was seen internally as an important move to change the focus of the news and reinforce the senator’s ties with the American Republican wing.
Factions and public security
After the meeting, Flávio stated that he took Trump a request for the United States to classify the PCC and Comando Vermelho as terrorist organizations.
According to the senator, the American president heard the proposal, but did not make an immediate commitment on the issue.
Flávio also declared that he intends to defend, in an eventual government, a “pragmatic” foreign policy, seeking to maintain dialogue with both Washington and China.
During the visit, members of the Brazilian delegation tried to deliver personalized t-shirts to Trump and his family, but the items did not pass through the White House’s inspection protocols in time.
