The vice-president took advantage of a meeting of the National Executive this Wednesday (27) to defend the government program that creates a line of credit for taxi drivers and app drivers who want to renew their fleet at lower prices.
And he said he made a kind of pamphlet, which he called a “paper”, with the measures announced by the government for the category, which he has handed out at taxi ranks.
“President Lula launched a R$30 billion program to renew the taxi fleet and app drivers. It’s a success, people can look for banks. I even made a little paper, and when I find a taxi rank, I give them half a dozen of the little paper with all the measures”, he said at the meeting.
Alckmin also said that he wanted to take advantage of the meeting to ask those who were at the meeting to present the measure in the states. He has sought to promote the program, with posts on social media and visits to dealerships.
According to the vice president, the government’s action reduced the interest charged to this group by up to 50%. The package was launched by Lula in São Paulo, and seeks to bring the government closer to this segment, considered strategic.
The president still wants to launch a program along the same lines for motorcycle taxi drivers. The model has already been closed, but the government is still discussing the form and launch date.
