During the meeting with the senator and pre-candidate (-RJ), the president of the USA, even praised the president (PT), according to a report confirmed by Bolsonaro businessman Paulo Figueiredo, who participated in the meeting.
“President Trump did comment on the meeting with President Lula. He praised his dynamism, but he also made other comments that I prefer to keep private,” he told Sheet.
The compliment is the same used in a post published by the US president shortly after the meeting with the PT member at Truth Social. “I have just concluded my meeting with Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the very dynamic president of Brazil. We discussed many topics, including trade and, specifically, tariffs.”
After Tuesday’s meeting, Flávio stated that he was presented by Trump with a “challenge coin” (traditional military currency in the USA, with reference to the term “challenge”).
On the part of the Brazilian delegation, there was an attempt to deliver personalized shirts from Brazil — at least ten of them were produced with the name of Trump and his family. As those present need to undergo inspection, however, they did not arrive in time for the meeting between the PL pre-candidate and the US president.
The duration of the meeting between Flávio and Trump has not yet been detailed. Paulo Figueiredo stated that they spent around an hour and 40 minutes at the White House. During an interview with journalists, however, when asked about the time he spent with Trump, the senator was unable to specify.
Flávio stated that the main reason for the meeting was to ask the republican to designate the CV and PCC criminal factions as terrorists. When discussing the matter with Trump, he said he was still analyzing the issue and made no promises to the senator.
The meeting between Trump and Flávio was not scheduled on the official White House agenda. During the morning and early afternoon about who he would meet with — last week, the meeting was confirmed by those around the senator, but there was a fear that the agenda could be canceled in the midst of negotiations for an agreement during the war in Iran.
Upon leaving the meeting, Flávio met with Bolsonaro deputies who are also in the American capital. In videos shared on social media, they appear celebrating in a house in Washington. At another moment, the parliamentarians appear with Figueiredo, Flávio and Eduardo praying in a circle.
As of Wednesday morning (27), no photos of the meeting had been shared by the White House. Images of the meeting were shared by the Brazilian side and by former Trump advisor Jason Miller, who was not at the meeting. “One election is enough to change everything,” wrote Miller online endorsing Flávio’s candidacy.
Department of State
One day after the meeting with Trump, Flávio met with representatives from the US government’s State Department.
He met this Wednesday (27) with Christopher Landau, US Deputy Secretary of State, and Darren Beattie, counselor and advisor in charge of relations with Brazil.
Secretary Marco Rubio was not present. This Wednesday morning, a cabinet meeting takes place at the White House.
At the State Department, the senator was accompanied by Eduardo Bolsonaro and Paulo Figueiredo. According to Figueiredo, issues of cooperation between Brazil and the USA were discussed in view of the eventual election of the senator, in addition to the urgency of designating the PCC and Comando Vermelho as foreign terrorist organizations.
