Iran war, live: breaking news | The agreement on nuclear matters and the management of Hormuz slow down the peace agreement

The flow of ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz remains very limited due to the war in the Middle East, but among those passing through it, the proportion of ships not linked to Iran appears to be increasing, according to maritime data company Lloyd’s List Intelligence. Since the start of the war, triggered on February 28 by Israeli and American attacks against Iran, Tehran has orchestrated the almost total paralysis of the Strait of Hormuz, hindering a large part of the hydrocarbon exports of the Gulf countries, with detrimental consequences for the world economy. But “last week, we saw ships flagged from Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and South Korea, as well as a Norwegian-flagged ship,” transiting the Strait of Hormuz, says Bridget Diakun, an analyst at Lloyd’s List Intelligence. Transits of large oil tankers not linked to Iran appear to be increasing again. Of the 27 recorded by the analysis firm Kpler since the beginning of the conflict, more than half occurred in May.
