President of the PT says the party will have a “strong platform” in Minas

Edinho Silva states that the scenario in São Paulo is “resolved” and cites statements after Rodrigo Pacheco’s (PSB-MG) denial

The national president of the Workers’ Party, Edinho Silva, stated, this Wednesday (May 27, 2026), that the party works to consolidate the state platforms of the president’s campaign (PT) in the 2026 elections.

In an interview with CNNthe PT member said that the scenario in São Paulo is already “resolved” and that the PT reorganizes the articulations in Minas Gerais after the from the senator (PSB-MG).

Despite saying that São Paulo is “resolved”stated that the composition for the Senate race in the State is still under construction. “The Senate is composing and we have leaders to compose these platforms”these.

Regarding Minas Gerais, Edinho stated that the PT opened negotiations with state leaders and allied parties after Pacheco’s refusal to run for state government.

“In Minas Gerais, with Rodrigo Pacheco’s refusal, we are talking to the leaders of the PT in Minas Gerais, we are talking to the leaders of the allied parties in Minas Gerais”he stated.

The PT president also said that the party has no doubt that President Lula will have strong political support in the state during the election campaign.

“No one has any doubt that we will have a very strong platform in Minas to support President Lula’s campaign”he declared.

Edinho will travel to Belo Horizonte on Saturday (May 30) for a round of meetings with leaders, activists and possible pre-candidates.
