A United Airlines flight bound for Spain was forced to return to its departure airport after a possible security threat emerged during the journey.
According to audio communications with air traffic control, the incident was triggered when a passenger named his Bluetooth device after a four-letter word associated with a serious threat.
Given the alert, the crew followed safety protocols and decided to reverse the aircraft’s route so that the situation could be assessed by the competent authorities.
