Trump says Israel will not send troops to Beirut

Republican says he spoke with Netanyahu and Hezbollah to sign a truce in Lebanon; ceasefire agreement was reached in April

The President of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican Party), stated this Monday (June 1, 2026) that Hezbollah and Israel agreed to cease firing in Lebanon. Trump said he had spoken to both the paramilitary group and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to sign the truce.
