Anvisa orders batch recall of Crystal water due to bacteria

Measure covers 500 ml units manufactured in Luziânia (GO); around 99% of the batch has already been removed from points of sale

A National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) published, this Wednesday (3), a resolution that determines the recall of a batch of Natural Mineral Water without gas from the Crystal brand. The measure was taken after laboratory analyzes confirmed the presence of the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa in product samples.

The affected batch is the LZ1 VAL200127 3 P 200126manufactured on January 20, 2026, valid until January 20, 2027. The item was produced by Mineração Bom Jesus Ltda., in Luziânia (GO).

According to Anvisa, the official document “communicates the voluntary recall of the product by the company” after the local ban determined by the Health Surveillance of the Federal District (Divisa/DF).

The contamination was initially identified by Central Public Health Laboratory of the Federal District (Lacen-DF) during a routine inspection. A countertest confirmed the result.

According to the agency’s note, the surveillance action “identified the presence of the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa in a sample of the product collected during a routine action by the Health Surveillance Directorate of the Federal District (Divisa/DF) for food analysis”.

Distribution and guidelines

The batch consists of 374.4 thousand 500 ml bottles. Distribution took place in Federal District (230,443 units), in cities of Goiás (66.768), no interior of São Paulo (75,750) and no Tocantins (1,439). The manufacturer informed Anvisa that the recall began immediately and that approximately 99.2% of the units have already been removed from the shelves.

Guidance for consumers who have bottles from this specific batch is do not consume the product. It is necessary check the number on the label e wait for instructions from the manufacturing company about return and refund procedures.

To date, there have been no records of consumer complaints through official customer service channels. Anvisa emphasizes that investigations continue, but that, based on current evidence, the “occurrence is restricted to the reported batch”. The measure prohibits a marketing, distribution and the use of any unit belonging to that manufacturing group.
