Israeli attacks in the south

The Lebanese state news agency NNA reported that Israel attacked more than 20 locations in the south of the country. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the Israeli attack near the city of Sur claimed the lives of four Syrians and two Palestinians.

However, a spokesman for the Israeli armed forces told AFP that the army had no information about the attack in the area.

Ambulance and victim intervention

The health ministry also said the attack hit an ambulance belonging to the Risala Scouts Association, which is linked to the Amal movement, a Hezbollah ally. In its statement, it added that two medics were killed in the attack and the third suffered very serious injuries. At least 130 medics have been killed since the start of the war between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah in March.

The Lebanese army said one of its soldiers was also killed in the Israeli attack, while another soldier and an officer were wounded in another attack on a military vehicle.

Diplomatic talks in Washington

The attacks come at a time when another round of direct negotiations between representatives of Lebanon and Israel is being held on Tuesday at the US State Department in Washington. The fourth meeting in a row is expected to last two days.
