The Union of Parishes of Faro (Sé and São Pedro) and ADCZHFARO – Commercial Development Association of the Historic Zone of Faro promote, during the month of June, the “Saturdays in Downtown” initiative.
This is a program of cultural, recreational and commercial activities aimed at boosting local commerce and reinforcing the attractiveness of the city’s downtown and historic areas.
The initiative takes place on Saturday mornings, on the 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th of June, transforming the streets of the center of Faro into spaces for socializing, entertainment and discovery for residents and visitors.
Over the four Saturdays, the program includes shows and musical entertainment, activities for children, live caricatures, a collector’s market and various street entertainment activities. The MONTRA project is also planned to be carried out, which seeks to promote creativity and enhance commercial spaces.
Program aims to bring residents, visitors and traditional commerce closer together
With this initiative, the organizing entities intend to encourage visits to traditional commerce and create a more dynamic, welcoming and participatory urban experience.
“Saturdays in Baixa” are presented as an opportunity to rediscover the city center, support the local economy and enjoy moments of family leisure, in an environment of proximity and appreciation of the Farense identity.
The detailed schedule for each Saturday will be published through the communication channels of (Sé and São Pedro) and ADCZHFARO.
