Foreign harvest workers brutally murdered in southern Italy over a dispute over wages

The harvest workers were on their way back from the strawberry fields in the area of Sibari, on the coast of the Ionian Sea, in the very south of the country. They were in the back seats of a minivan that stopped at a gas station. There the driver and passenger got out, inserted a little money into the payment machine and grabbed the fuel pump. But instead of filling the car with gas, they sprayed the gasoline over the car and into the passenger compartment, locked the doors from the outside and then threw a burning object inside through the rear door. Then they fled.
