Rich people? The cruel truth about the salaries of hockey players in Slovakia! After Lašák, Orviská spoke up: And they still have to be…

Former Slovak representative Ján Lašák in the podcast, he spoke out loud about the harsh reality in hockey, and the topic of money came up for a shake-up. World champion from Gothenburg revealed how much the average player in the Slovak league earns many people will be surprised by his words. “In Slovakia, you have a lot of hockey players who earn 25,000 a year, that’s not a lot of money,” he declared.

His words were caught by an Instagram profile that tries to increase the financial literacy of Slovaks. “It sounds strange, but hockey players in Slovakia really don’t earn much. For example, the average hockey player in Trenčín earned only 2,500 euros per month last year. However, they still have to pay taxes and levies. So he only has 2,000 euros left in the net. Well, watch out. While you get paid every month, hockey players are mostly unpaid in the summer,” explains the profile and continues.

“Contracts are usually only for one season, which lasts 8-10 months. So the average hockey player in Slovakia will earn similar to the average employee. With the difference that he lives his entire career in uncertainty, risks his health and knows that he will ideally retire in his 40s,” he concluded.

He also knows the hard bread of professional athletes presenter and influencer Alexandra Orviská, whose partner is the hockey player of Bratislava Slovan Jaroslav Janus. She shared the mentioned video and supplemented it with her own observations from life with the hockey goalie. “And they still have to be on the job 11 months a year every day without a holiday. Yum,” she wrote on the social network. PHOTO can be found in the gallery!
