The former governor of Goiás and pre-candidate for president, Ronaldo Caiado, used his time as Governor Valadares this Tuesday (02) to fire against the Lula government and take a stance on the 25% American tariffs. Alongside senator Carlos Viana, on an agenda with local leaders, Caiado was direct: “I am 100% against this deliberation. It is unacceptable for us, Brazilians, to be taxed due to the total irresponsibility of a PT government.”

For the former governor, the It’s the federal government’s fault. “If I were the President of the Republic, I would know how to sit at the negotiating table, I would know how to have an Itamaraty that knew how to make the necessary coordination in the area of trade. We wouldn’t have that.”

Caiado took advantage of the platform to project his candidacy and send a message to the United States: “Understand that the Brazil will be different from October 25th. We will have another elected Brazil that will know how to have pride, dignity and will know how to have the stature of a President of the Republic to sit down with the countries and negotiate their tariffs.”

O speech was given hours after Caiado, Zema and Flávio Bolsonaro share the same platform at Mega-Leite, in Belo Horizonte, in a meeting that he himself defined as “the first meeting of the three presidential candidates.”
