Distribution of R$4.9 billion from the Electoral Fund: PL, PT and Union keep 40% of the total

The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) released on the night of this Wednesday, 3rd, the values ​​of the Special Campaign Financing Fund (FEFC) for the 2026 elections. In total, R$4.9 billion will be distributed among 30 parties, with PL (Liberal Party), PT (Workers’ Party) and União Brasil concentrating around 40% of the amount.

The PL is the party with the largest share of the Electoral Fund, with R$881.6 million reserved for 2026. The Workers’ Party (PT) appears in second place, with R$615.3 million, followed by União Brasil, with R$526.2 million.

The FEFC is made up of budget allocations from the Union in an election year and aims to fund the campaigns of candidates.

The distribution of resources follows the criteria established in the Elections Law: 2% are divided equally between all parties with registered status at the TSE; 35% are distributed proportionally to the votes obtained in the last election for the Chamber of Deputies; 48% is distributed according to the number of representatives elected to the Chamber; and the remaining 15% is divided according to the representation of each party in the Federal Senate.

The amounts can be used for expenses related to the campaign, such as printing materials, promoting content on the internet, hiring staff, renting spaces for events, transport and communication services.
