The hellish drought shut down the water: Taps in two villages have dried up, there is a threat of water regulation!

Long-term drought, extremely high temperatures and increased water consumption caused a shortage of drinking water in the villages of Mojmírovce and Svätoplukovo in the Nitra district. In some higher-lying parts of the municipalities, water no longer flows from the public water supply. On behalf of the Water Management Company (VSS) Mojmírovce, the municipality of Mojmírovce informed about this on its website.

As she stated, the supply of drinking water is also affected by the operation of the reservoir in Močenkowhich is managed by the West Slovak Vodárenská spoločnost Nitra. VSS calls on residents to limit the use of drinking water to basic necessities until further notice. This mainly concerns watering gardens and lawns, filling swimming pools, washing cars and other activities unrelated to normal consumption.

The company warns that in the case of continued high consumption, the situation may further deteriorate if it is necessary to introduce time regulation of water supplies. At the same time, residents are asked to take a responsible and considerate approach in order to avoid more extensive supply restrictions.
