The director highlighted that CCEE’s role is to operate the auctions, transforming the guidelines defined by the government and regulatory bodies into procedures capable of making the auction viable.
“CCEE’s responsibility is technical in operationalization, that is, translate the guidelines published in ministerial ordinances and notices to allow everything to happen in the best way possible,” he said.
The positioning comes after the government published the rules for the country’s first energy storage auctions, scheduled for December, in the SIN Sistema Interligado Nacional.
Competitions must contract power from battery systems with 15-year contracts and supply start in 2028.
