The conflict is coming to a head. The US and the Europeans failed to agree on a new high representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) meeting in Sarajevo on Wednesday and Thursday. A successor to the German CSU politician Christian Schmidt, who held the office from 2021, was actually supposed to be found on Thursday.
