Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) asked the Federal Supreme Court (STF) to declare minister Alexandre de Moraes suspect to act in processes related to Banco Master and banker Daniel Vorcaro. He requires that petitions already addressed to Moraes be sent to Minister André Mendonça, rapporteur of the Master case at the Supreme Court. The request was filed last Monday (1st), and will be analyzed by the President of the Court, Edson Fachin.

In the petition, Flávio’s lawyers point out a possible relationship between Moraes and Vorcaro. They cite alleged exchanges of messages between the two and the contract signed by the Master with the minister’s wife, Viviane Barci de Moraes. According to tax documents sent to the Senate’s Organized Crime CPI, the Viviane’s office received R$80.2 million of the bank to provide legal services.

Flávio’s request was made after Moraes requested an opinion from the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) on the (PL-SP). Eduardo is a defendant for alleged coercion during the process and obstruction of justice in the trial of the coup plot, in which his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), was convicted.

Moraes’ order responded to a request from deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ). He called for an investigation into Flávio after the website The Intercept Brasil revealed that the inspired by his father’s trajectory. About R$61 million was paid and sent to a fund linked to Eduardo in the USA. The suspicion is that the money was used to finance the former deputy’s actions against Brazilian authorities.

“These two objective data allow us to say, always with the utmost respect, that His Excellency would not have the necessary impartiality to process and judge the request sent by Federal Deputy Lindbergh Farias, especially because such request involves not only Banco Master, but also Daniel Vorcaro”, says the petition.

Flavio too requests that Lindbergh’s request be withdrawn from the inquiry reported by Moraes and filed in a new action, to be distributed “for prevention” to minister André Mendonça, nominated to the STF by Bolsonaro.
